For those of you too impatient to try to make sense of this muddy note, here is my best attempt at a transcript:

Why is it important to use whole
numbers when talking about factor
and divisabilaty A whole number is a
good reasone to use whole numbers because
hafe a number is not good

2. Which do you thinck is more
important learning to use math
(use math) for practical purposes
like accounting and architecture or
learning to use math to describe the
world we live in like spatial geometry
and the chaos theory?

Math is a good reson to because
if you do not know some math you
mit not know how to do things in the
frucher [future?]. Math is very fun and like
saying 1000 X 1000 = 100 0000 is very nice to
know. I say that math is 65% of
or [our?] life. I am very good at math.
All my friends are not good at it.
But I say to them look at my
teacher Mr Boasodo his very bad at it
when he was a child. I am very
good. I my slafe. [???] I can(e)
looky fored to being be a (toro) tornado-
caser. But wont get there if I dont
know how to do math.

Children are stupid, which is often cute and entertaining. That's why Bill Cosby goads them into saying something idiotic, and everyone laughs. That's why parents videotape kids as they stick forks in the toaster, then mail the tapes to America's Funniest Home Videos. Sure, it's disturbing watching Timmy get electrocuted -- but wait until they add a goofy sound-effect.

I found this note on March 26th, 2003, lying in the mud on the street where I live. Can you believe it? Someone left a found object, on my street! Sometimes they make it too easy.

My favourite line in this essay on the joy of mathematics has got to be, "I cane looky fored to being be a tornado-caser."

Dare to dream, kid.
