Shredded Old Man
Lost -- ink and acrylic paint on posterboard

When I'm really stumped for inspiration, I turn to the newspaper. Where else can you find pictures of people standing still, staring straight ahead? The perfect portrait material.

This elderly gentleman had his picture in the Ottawa Citizen. I can't remember why, and I've lost the original picture, so I guess it will always remain a mystery. His right eye was a swollen red dot and he looked pretty grumpy. When I set to catching his likeness, he started to decompose. By the time I was done, he was little more than a tattered mask, blowing in the breeze by the lake.

This painting got up and walked away. There are rumours it is living in Borneo.
