COLORS magazine is full of fantastic photographs. In Canada, they print all their text in both English
and French. (Other countries feature English and German, or Spanish, etc.) Issue #47 was titled "Madness" and "Folie". Inside were photographs and stories
about the mentally ill and the institutions around the world that house them.
Many of the photographs were breathtaking. Three of them inspired me to paint -- this is
the first of the three. The photograph this work originated from showed a man with painfully
innocent blue eyes. Even through his photograph I could sense the heat that some
schizophrenics give off.
I don't know if others have experienced this phenomena. A certain kind of schizophrenic
can fill a room with heat and sparks. Their charisma, their sincerity, their force -- it's
a kind of vibration that hits me in the stomach and behind my eyes. It makes them seem
much larger than they actually are.
To purchase this art, just contact me Or you can contact me just to tell me how much you like it. That
would be nice too.
