Folie #2
sold -- ink, coloured pencil, and acrylic paint on paper
14 X 20 inches

First there was Folie #1. This is Folie #2. Colors magazine had an issue all about madness. Many of the faces were fantastic. This man looks like a startled lizard to me, perpetually frightened, his eyes wide and scared. He tries to put on a dignified look, but doesn't quite make it, the poor guy.

If you look to the right of his face, you can see a dark, shady blue. I get the feeling that I could slip my fingers into that blue, and pry off the mask that is this man's face. There's no telling what would be underneath, but I'm pretty sure it would be unpleasant. Then again, maybe I'm wrong and what's underneath is quite beautiful.

This work was sold almost as soon as the image hit the website. Neat, huh?
