It's rare that anything other than a face catches my eye. But one night, walking home, I looked up and saw a series of windows embedded in a wall. Each window was a tiny square. The light poured through, making each square glow.

"That would be an interesting shape for an abstract painting," I thought. And when I got home, I started sketching it.

This painting is very popular, much to my surprise. (I don't do abstracts very often.) I had three interested buyers, and then one of them showed up at my door with money and took the painting home.
