The Angry Ghost of a Rich Rocket
$250 -- acrylic paint, ink, collage, varnished, framed.
16 X 20 inches (inside frame) 19 X 23 (frame)

I'd like to say I created this to commemorate the passing of Rocket Richard, a great Canadian hockey player. Only, I'm not really into sports at all. (Is hockey the one with the puck?)

What actually happened is, Rocket died, and they plastered his face everywhere. Including the newspapers. In many of the photos, Richard looks like he's bug-chewingly psychotic. The face impressed the hell out of me. For example, take a look at this old hockey card.

In order to emphasize just how crazy-looking Richard is, I put him in a frame painted bright red. I think it helps.
