A big, hairy man holding a machine gun was featured on the front page of a Canadian newspaper. He was from some unit of the Canadian military known for their ability to kick the snot out of anyone who gets in their way. And for some reason they're all allowed to grow big, bushy beards. Tradition, I guess.

When I started painting this portrait, I had no idea the gun was going to be a bright, glowing pink. It was an idea that hit me while in midstream. It made me giggle. A big, butch, macho guy holding a big pink gun? Wonderful!

I think this painting would look terrific hanging in a gay bar.
