On the back of this painting is written "Sept. 01", "Vlad" and my signature, "Nik". After I completed this painting, I sold it to a friend of mine and promptly forgot about it. My friend lives in a bit of a hole, so I rarely visit his place, but when I do, I see this painting on the wall and wonder about it. I know I painted it, but for the life of me I can't remember who Vlad is.

Recently, I asked my friend if I could borrow the painting, so I could take it home, scan it for my website, and just look at it for a while.

"Sure thing," he said.

"I promise to give it back to you," I said.

"Great."

"Do you like the painting?" I asked him.

"Yes," he answered.

"Why?"

He laughed and said, "I don't know."
