Shortly after posting these stories about the candidates' meetings, I received the following email from David Chernushenko. What impresses me is how casual and kind he is, even though I wrote a few nasty things about him. Clearly David has a sense of humor.

A friend pointed me to your election writing. I greatly enjoyed it, even if you took a few shots at me, and even though you seem to have grown annoyed by the Greens. So, since I can't be accused of pandering for your vote now, I just wanted to thank you for your original (and committed) coverage of ALL the debates! Glad you solved your "Mechanicsville questioner" mystery in the end. And no, I did not ride my bike to the final debate. I might have swum or surfed, but not cycled that night. And yes, I was feeling more than 40 by the end of the campaign. In fact, I turned 41 the day after the election. Old enough to beat "Ed!" next time?
